ABOUT

I was very fortunate to grow up in a house where music was always playing on the radio or the record player.  I was exposed to all genres of music at a young age, from Frank Sinatra to Led Zeppelin and everything in between.  Music then was not formatted as it is today and this allowed me to hear so many amazing songs, records, productions and recording artists.  My musical education began with my sister and I playing our favorite 45's on her record player.  We listened to them over and over again until we had all the words to the songs written down and memorized.  It was this passion for music that has remained with me for all my life.  I cannot say how many times music has given me goose bumps from hearing beautiful music.  I have a deep reverence for what I consider to be “perfect records” that have shaped my life and music.  I am thankful that I was exposed to the songs written by so many brilliant songwriters in my life as they have had a major influence on my songwriting.

I was also drawn to the sound of the recordings at an early age and wanted to know how records were made.  It was this early fascination that led me to the recording studio.  The first time I walked into a recording studio I knew that I had found my home.  I knew recording would always be part of my life.  I love working in the studio and the recording process from start to finish.

I believe it takes soul to make music.  I find that the records that move me all have soul as the basis of their sound.  Soul is not defined by any musical genre, gender or nationality.  You can't buy it. You've either got it or you don't.  I have a deep reverence for all those records in the past and today that have so much soul.  I am consumed with making music with Soul.

I also believe that you must have devotion to your craft.  Just as a musician must spend time with his or her instrument, there is no short cut to success.  You must love music and continue to devote your time, energy and resources.  You have got to believe in yourself and your music no matter what obstacles come your way.
